Bring Specialized Support Into Your Schools with
In-District Programming

Keep students in the least restrictive environment while expanding your district’s capacity to support diverse learning needs.

Helping students succeed starts with the right support—delivered in the right environment.

Our embedded, school-based programs promote academic, behavioral, and emotional growth—while keeping students connected to their home district.

At New Story Schools and River Rock Academy, we partner with public school districts to provide a flexible continuum of programming, including:

  • In-District Placement (IDP) autism support and emotional support classrooms embedded within your schools to keep students in a less restrictive environment
  • In-District Consultative (IDC) services providing programming and staff in public schools
  • Continuum of programming including In-District Services, alongside collaboration with Out-of-District schools to support students with more intensive needs
  • Ongoing collaboration with your educators, families, and administrators to make sure each student is in the right classroom setting
  • Tailored professional development for educators at all levels, including offerings such as trauma informed care and crisis prevention

Our In-District programs include both alternative education and special education services such as autism and emotional support—helping students remain in the least restrictive environment while still accessing high-quality, individualized support.

Whether in your schools or ours, we work closely with your team to create the most supportive setting for every learner—always guided by what’s best for the student.

Trusted by our District Partners

As principal of Lurgan Elementary, having the [IDP] classroom join our building this year has given everyone involved the opportunity to learn from each other!  One of the unique opportunities' students have... is the fact it allows them to gradually integrate into the regular education classrooms as they demonstrate the skills needed to successfully function outside of the specialized classroom.

The ongoing collaboration with the administrators is what I believe continues to make the integration nearly seamless. The genuine compassion I've observed demonstrated by the staff members, despite the daily challenges thrown their way, makes it evident these folks are here for the most important reason... meeting the needs of our students!

- Paul Swope, Regional Principal, Grandview & Lurgan Elementary Schools, In-District Placement Partner

The relationship between Chambersburg Area School District (CASD) and River Rock has been exemplary. The consistent support and dedication River Rock has shown to our needs as a District has been instrumental in fostering a positive and productive environment for our students and their families.

River Rock’s commitment to collaboration has allowed us to work together seamlessly, ensuring that CASD priorities align and that we can effectively serve our students and community”.
